Functional or thematic CVIn this type of CV, you list your different categories' experiences. Suppose you have experiences that differ from each other that make it difficult for a recruiter to understand and see the common thread. In that case, a functional CV will help present their experiences from a different point of view. For example, you may have worked as a store manager a few other times in your work life, and in between have worked as a consultant in grocery retail. Then it may be wise to separate the store manager jobs and the consulting jobs separately to clarify the different branches of the career. If you are not looking for a job where you must have a graphic talent or ability, it may be wise not to bother with it by trying to stand out with a different layout. For example, you can type the titles in a larger font and leave the subheadings in bold.</li><li>Use single line spacing.</li><li>Make clear distinctions between the different experiences and the different parts (work experience, education, etc.), preferably with a blank line in between.</li><li>Use default settings for the margins at the top and bottom and on the sides.</li><li>Avoid colours and shapes if you are not entirely sure you are getting it graphicly good looking</li><li>Enter your contact information, suggested in the header at the top right, on both sides</li><li>Not more than two pages</li><li>References available upon request</li><li>List all experiences in reverse chronological order; the ongoing or latest experience first.</li></ul>

Checklist

What is not relevant for the job you are applying for should not be staying in your CV. Even though it is a big part of your life to have a family and hobbies, it is usually completely irrelevant concerning the new job. Of course, it is nice to know this about you later in as a colleague, but not when deciding whether or not to apply for the position. You also do not want to risk taking focus from relevant experiences just to tell what you do in your spare time.
